PnP Tantalum, aluminum electrolytic and LED parts
Polarized parts. Getting the body size right is only half the job: the polarity mark on the part has to land the right way round, and the case code on the reel is often a letter or an EIA code instead of a size.
The numbers you program
- Case size from the case code (for example tantalum case D = 7343)
- Height
- Polarity mark and which end is +
- Tape orientation
Mistakes to watch
- Tantalum installed backwards
- Case letter read as the wrong EIA size
- LED polarity mark read from the wrong drawing
